WORKBENCH
Build Plans
What started as a dedicated space for my DIY projects, grew into a build plan that so many others turned into their dream workspace. Even before completing the workbench, I knew I also wanted to design a dust collection system that fit within it to control debris in our multi-functional garage. Integrated storage seemed like a natural addition to complete this all-in-one workbench. Now, these are available in bundles or individual plans.
Workbench Build Plan Bundles

BASIC
3-in-1 mobile workbench
The 3-in-1 Mobile Workbench includes three primary features: a miter saw station, a table saw station and an out-feed table. The miter saw sits on a platform that drops down, allowing you to use the majority of the bench as a workspace or table saw out-feed table when it’s not in use.

ADVANCED
BASIC + dust collection
This bundle includes everything in the Basic, PLUS a Dust Collection System, designed to fit within the bench. With 3 ports, the dust collection connects to the table saw and miter saw, and has one additional port to connect different tools. Using high quality parts, this system is designed to last!

PREMIER
ADVANCED + Integrated Storage
This bundle includes everything in the Advanced, PLUS Integrated Storage on both ends of the bench—under and beside the table saw, as well as on the opposite side. With so much storage, you’ll have a place for everything. Also included is a bonus plan to create a sanding disc drawer.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the “3-in-1”?
The workbench has a miter saw station that has the capability to drop-down, a table saw station + out-feed table (when the miter saw is stowed below), and a huge table top for your projects!
What are the dimensions?
It’s 4-ft wide by 6.5-ft long and 38-in tall, which is a few inches higher than a standard countertop. I’m 5’7” and think the height works great!
How much does the build cost?
Depending on lumber costs, the 3-in-1 Mobile Workbench costs between $400-$500 to build.
The Dust Collection costs around $500. After thorough research, I selected high quality components, like the metal blast gates—in lieu of plastic—which will ensure long-term use.
What are the Bundles?
The bundles are packages of the different build plans, offered at a discounted price if you’d like to get more than one plan.
For example, if you want the Workbench + the Dust Collection, go with the ADVANCED BUNDLE. Want the Integrated Storage as well? Go with the PREMIER BUNDLE.
But, what if you only want the Workbench + the Integrated Storage? They can be purchased separately! If you’re not ready to tackle everything and just want to purchase them individually, that’s an option as well.
What if I don’t have the Dewalt tools?
While the workbench was made specifically for the Dewalt Miter Saw (Model #DWS780) and Table Saw (Model #DWE7485), modifications can be made. However, any changes made are at the discretion of the builder. Please note, changes can impact the function of the bench, as well as subsequent plans (i.e. the dust collection and/or integrated storage.
Because there are so many different models of tools, I cannot provide recommendations for each one, but I have created general guidelines that you can reference to make adjustments.
Is this a beginner-friendly build?
Absolutely! New DIYers have used these build plans to sharpen their current skills and learn new building methods. You will need a few essential tools to complete the build, such as a drill/driver, miter saw or circular saw, and pocket hole jig. You got this!
